We went to the
LA Zoo today with our friends
Dan and
Deirdre, and their daughters
Abby and
Hannah. They are both teachers too, and we have gone to the zoo with them every summer for the last 5 years. Our kids are the same ages and have grown up together.
Scott and Dan lived across the street from each other for 17 years. They have been friends since they were 5. Dan and his family only live about 10 minutes from us and we see them all the time, but these two guys still talk to each other almost every day on the phone.
Here I am with my boys. I am in denial that my 10 year old son will soon be as tall as me!
We went into Old Pasadena on the way home to get something to eat. We found this small cafe that had sandwiches, salads, pizza...it was so good! Then we went to the park to let the kids play for a while.
Summer has started off very well for our family!

There are few things as fun as a trip to the zoo with family and friends.
